The All Golden channel all that is good about Big Star, The Flaming Lips and Syd Barret's Pink Floyd through a blurred sense of Smithsian melody and a meticulous eye for songcraft. They have the uncanny knack to burrow through dense layers of noise lacing the chaos around them with more hooks than the Beatles catalog. Sonic delirium gives way to studio trickery where seemingly random sounds seamlessly interconnect with the whole to produce works of staggering emotion.

The All Golden was formed in Kent, Ohio in October of 1999 by the duo of Chris Sheehan (ex-The Witch Hazel Sound) and Scott Bennett (owner of Waterloo Sound Recording, a studio that has worked with bands like Harriet The Spy and Guided By Voices.) These two distinctive songwriters have unique yet shared visions for the band and it is this guiding principle that provides the melange of sounds produced by the band. The group is rounded out with members Charlie Druesedow on drums and Joel McAdams (ex-New Terror Class) on bass and keys.

Their first release (the "Velikovsky" single) was mailed off to England's prestigious New Musical Express as a lark. While Chris and Scott debated the future of the group gamely across the pond the editorial staff at the NME were going gonzo and anointed the song with a rave review. Further accolades started to stream in and Chris and Scott realized that perhaps their love of writing songs with each other did in fact have the possibility to do more than satisfy them personally and they decided that the band should become more than just a recording project to pass the time. They feverishly wrote new material and took to the road to test it out before heading back into the studio in the Fall of 2001 with The Witch Hazel Sound's Kevin Coral at the board.

The resulting album was A Long Good Friday (Microtone Records) and the fuzzy pop of "Velikovsky" was expanded upon and bettered as the album's songs bleed and ooze from the speakers to stain the environment around them with their inherent bliss. The group is gearing up to tour across the United States to spread the good word and turn the masses onto the fun that music should be while road-testing even more material. The All Golden take all that is great about the history of pop and spin it into something new for the future.
